Read Sheryl's bio

Sheryl holds a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate (Distinction) in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology, and is completing further training with the National Centre for Autism and Mental Health (NCAMH).

Drawing on this alongside her own lived experience of neurodivergence, Sheryl designed and leads Outside The Box, a peer support group for neurodivergent people with co-occurring mental health conditions, shaped by trauma-informed practice, DBT and occupational therapy approaches. She also develops accessible, neurodivergent-affirming psychoeducational resources to support the group.

Sheryl is a trained SMART Recovery facilitator, volunteers with the Club Drug Clinic and has previously volunteered with VoiceAbility in North West London. Through her links with Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, she advocates for better care for marginalised communities, particularly neurodivergent people.

We combine the authentic empathy of peer-led support with a rigorous, evidence-based psychological framework, designed to foster long-term, sustainable transformation.

who are we?

Sam and Sheryl are founding directors and Co-Chairs of Gyre Collective CIC.

Founded and led by Sheryl Tang and Sam Graham, our purpose is to disrupt the revolving door of substance misuse through a comprehensive, eclectic continuum of care, connection and service innovation.

Jon Roberts of Dear Albert in Leicester has played an important part in getting Gyre off the ground, providing mentorship and currently serving as our third director.

why gyre?

Traditional addiction services can often rely on a single, more rigid pathway through and when exiting structured treatment, which may fail to help service users adapt to what can be a fluid and chaotic reality of early recovery.

Gyre Collective CIC addresses this systemic gap, which can lead to recovery stagnation or relapse post structured treatment, by deploying an integrated ecosystem that harmonises three distinct clinical approaches, ensuring that one framework's limitation is another's core strength.
